What follows below is the User Manual for our Download application. Find the manual to Install the NativeDSD Downloader here.

This User Manual will explain authorising and using the app to download your DSD, Flac and Wav purchases via a Mac, Windows or Linux machine, setting the download location, starting downloads, and checking the status of all downloads.

The screenshots are taken on a Mac but will look similar in a Windows or Linux environment.

Authenticating the NativeDSD Downloader

The authentication screen of the app
  1. After installing the app, Copy the Token* found in the downloader tab in your account page. If you need a new Token*, you can get it from the same page, read the instructions closely.

  2. Paste the Token on the App's Authentication screen (see above image). Press the orange Authorise button and wait a moment.

  3. You will be asked to set a download location** on your computer where the app should save downloaded music to. We recommend downloading to the computer's root (startup) drive instead of external drives or network volumes.

  4. Your purchases (if you have made any) will now load in the application's home screen.

More help on getting a new token for authentication can be found here.

2. Unless recently downloaded, all tracks will be selected by default. You may disable specific tracks you do not wish to (re)download. Then select a quality&channel combination at the bottom dropdown list, next to the download button, and hit Download to start your download.

Quality and Channels dropdown and download selections
  • The download will start and show the status in to the left of each track, as well as a folder icon that opens the download folder located on your drive. If you are downloading more than 1 track, tracks 2 and onwards will be queued until the previous track has completed downloading. You have the option to Pause and Cancel the download queue once it has started.

Note that if you queue tracks from more than one album, you can see the complete download queue overview in the downloads tab.

  • You may navigate away from the album page where downloads are happening and find a different album you would like to download tracks from. Downloads will happen in sequence, so any additional tracks selected for download will start in sequence, you can view the complete download list in the overview page.

  • Note that below the album artwork is the option to download the .jpg cover and booklet .pdf files, these will be saved in the same location as the music for the specific album is downloaded to. You may open the folder by clicking the folder icon, visible after download completes.

Downloads overview status page

When you click the downloads tab in the left sidebar you will see an overview of any active or recently completed downloads. If the app is quit, any active downloads will abort, and the download history list will be cleared, as well as any partial files on the destination drive will be removed.

Find the downloaded files

  1. On your computer's drive, find the folder as set in your download location setting.

  2. You will find the downloaded tracks in child folders from the SKU parent folder that contain the resolution/ quality, which itself is in a folder with the album title. This way, if you are downloading multiple resolutions or channel sets of the same music, it is easy to find them.

  3. If you want to adjust the location of the downloaded files please see instructions here.
